Blind Collection Series 2 is here, and it belongs to one artist: Damon Sheeley. The collection is called Understory, and eight of its ten designs are on the table right now for anyone to study. The other two are behind question marks, and they're staying there. One of them shows up once in every 36 packs.
Here's everything we can tell you, which is deliberately not everything.
How a Blind Collection Works
If you were here for Ukiyo Tales, our first blind collection, you know the format. If not: every pack is sealed, every pack looks identical, and the wallet inside is one of ten designs. You find out which one when you open it. That's the whole mechanism, borrowed from trading cards and designer toys and applied to a Tyvek Micro Wallet.
It changes the emotional math of buying a wallet. Normally you browse, you compare, you settle. A blind pack skips all of that and replaces it with the thirty seconds where you're peeling the seal and don't know yet. People who grew up on booster packs already understand exactly what that feels like.
The Odds, Printed on the Table
Series 2 runs three rarity tiers, and we're publishing the pull rates instead of making you guess.
Eight designs are common. Each pulls at 1:9.
One design is rare. It pulls at 1:18.
One design is super rare. It pulls at 1:36.
So most packs hand you one of the eight revealed designs. Some hand you the rare. And once in every thirty-six packs, somebody gets the one everybody's hunting. If you've ever chased a chase card, you know precisely which pack you're hoping is yours.
The Eight You Can See
The revealed designs are called Night Moves, Static Forest, Soft Shadows, Daybreak, Traveller, Starchild, Natural Path and Within Ourselves.
Visually they run as one connected world. Black-and-white mountain ranges built from fine engraved linework. Enormous suns and moons in flat gold. Starfields. Warped grids running off to the horizon. And here and there a single small figure, standing in all of it, dwarfed. The palette holds to cream, black and gold across the whole set, which is why any two of them sit next to each other like tracks off the same record.
And those titles do read like a record crate. We'll leave it to you to decide what Night Moves and Space Is The Place are nodding at.
The Two You Can't
Which brings us to the holdouts.
The rare is called Headspace. The super rare is called Space Is The Place. On the collection page, both sit behind question marks. No preview, no sneak peek, no leak. The first people to see these artworks will be the people who pull them.
We know what they look like. We're not telling. A blind collection where everything is revealed is just a collection, and the entire point of the 1:36 pack is that opening it tells you something nobody's product photography ever could.
Who Damon Sheeley Is
Portland illustrator. Runs the art brand SheeleyCo, where he sells prints, stickers, patches, enamel pins and apparel, alongside freelance work on book covers, branding and album art. He left a 9-to-5 career in his 40s to make art full time, which is its own kind of walking into the woods.
His work runs on nostalgia, nature, quiet reflection and a streak of existential weirdness with dry humor underneath. He pulls from mid-century design and old ephemera, and it shows in the engraved textures and flat gold suns all over this set.
If his name sounds familiar, it should. Halcyon, Tether, Find Yourself and Solivagant are all his, spread across our Micro, Slim and Passport formats. Tether and Find Yourself are the fastest way to calibrate your eye before September 4. Small figures, big landscapes, a lot of quiet. Understory is that sensibility given ten frames instead of one.
About That Name
The understory is the layer of a forest that grows beneath the canopy. It's the part you only see once you're actually in the woods, under the roof of the big trees, where the light comes through broken.
For an artist whose whole catalog is small people inside large landscapes, that's not a random title. It's a collection about the layer underneath, and two of its ten designs are literally hidden below the surface of the set. Take that however you like.
The Practical Part
Every wallet in the collection is a Micro Wallet. 1.3mm thin, holds 6 to 8 cards plus folded cash, front pocket carry. RFID-blocking, like everything we make apart from the coin pouch. Tyvek, so it's waterproof at the fiber level and tear-resistant, and the print doesn't shift or darken when it gets wet.
These are limited, like every Paperwallet run. When Series 2 sells through, it's done. No restock, no reprint, and no second chance at the 1:36.
Who's Pulling This
Ukiyo Tales collectors. You did Series 1. You know the ritual. This is the next shelf slot.
The booster pack generation. Anyone who remembers weighing a sealed pack in their hand trying to divine what was inside. It never stopped being fun. Somebody just had to apply it to something you carry every day.
Sheeley's people. If Tether or Solivagant is already in your rotation, ten new frames from the same hand is not a hard sell.
