On April 21, Paperwallet is dropping two new Micro Wallets from Ilustrata. The designs are called Magic Frog and Toku Samurai. If those names sound like they belong on trading cards or anime episode titles, that's the point. Ilustrata works in that space where pop culture, illustration, and humor overlap.
About Ilustrata
Ilustrata is an illustration brand that's built a following around pop culture mashups and character designs. Their work pulls from Japanese animation, video games, comic books, and internet culture, but it's filtered through a specific graphic style that's clean and print-ready. The designs tend to be character-focused with a sense of humor that doesn't need explaining.
They have a large online audience, which means some of the people buying these wallets will already know the art. That's a different dynamic from discovering a new artist through Paperwallet. Some customers will come specifically for Ilustrata's work.
Magic Frog
