Cat Bingo Goes Slim: The Eged Design Is Back in Slim Format, June 5

On June 5, Paperwallet is releasing Cat Bingo as a Slim Wallet. If the name is familiar, that's because we dropped the Micro Wallet version of this design in April. The response was strong enough that we brought it back in our larger format for people who carry more cards.

Same Design, Different Format

This is the same checkerboard of cat faces by Hungarian illustrator Enikő Katalin Eged. Twelve cats, each one different, arranged on alternating black and cream squares. The orange tabby with the narrow eyes, the black silhouette cat, the one wearing a blue bonnet, the one in a red hood. If you saw the Micro version, you know the design. If you didn't, the visual concept is simple and direct.

The difference here is format. The Micro Wallet version was 1.3mm thin and held 6 to 8 cards. The Slim Wallet version is about 3mm thin and holds 12 to 16 cards. It also has RFID-blocking material built into the lining, which the Micro doesn't have.

So the Cat Bingo Slim is for the same people who liked the original design but need more capacity. Or for people who carry too many cards for a Micro to handle but still want the cat-grid art.

How the Design Scales Up

The original Cat Bingo Micro packed all twelve cats into a credit-card-sized surface. The composition felt dense, which suited the playful subject matter. On the Slim Wallet, the larger surface area gives each cat more individual space. The grid still reads as a grid, but the cats feel like portraits instead of stickers.

Eged's bold black linework holds up well at both sizes. That's why we brought it to a second format. Some designs only work at one scale. This one works at both.

About the Artist

Enikő Katalin Eged is a Hungarian illustrator who's collaborated with Paperwallet multiple times now. Her previous releases include Tokyo Lights (a Passport Wallet) and Fish Market in the Dawn Glow (which was available as both a Micro and Slim but now SOLD OUT!). Her work covers a wide range visually (atmospheric cityscapes to playful character grids) but the through-line is density. She fills the available surface with intention.

The Slim Wallet Format

The Slim Wallet holds 12 to 16 cards plus folded cash. It's about 3mm thin, has RFID-blocking material in the lining, and is made from Tyvek (waterproof and tear-resistant). It's the format for people who carry more than a Micro can hold but want to stay thinner than a traditional bifold.

If you're not sure whether the Micro or Slim is right for you, the simple rule: count your cards. Under 8, get the Micro. Over 8, get the Slim.

Available June 5

Cat Bingo Slim launches June 5 in the Slim Wallet collection. Limited edition. When it sells out, we don't reprint.

The original Cat Bingo Micro may still be available depending on inventory. Check the Micro Wallet collection if you'd prefer the smaller format. Browse the full collection for other current artist releases.
